Performance

I arrange an appointment to use the historic Charles Rennie Mackintosh library at the Glasgow School of Art during reading week. I enter the space wearing a white ensemble and peruse the shelves for the oldest books. I remove each choice from the cabinet, breathe in until my lungs reach capacity, open the book, and slowly breathe into it until I have no air left. I close the book and put it back.
