The French expression "entre chien et loup" literally translates to "between dog and wolf" and refers to the twilight hour, particularly dusk, when the fading light makes it difficult to distinguish between familiar and wild creatures. Symbolically, it represents a transition between two states - safety and danger, the known and the unknown, or even reality and illusion. It evokes a sense of ambiguity, mystery, and transformation, often used in literature and poetry to describe moments of uncertainty, change, or eerie beauty.
